EUR-OCEANS activities to spread excellence include (i) a joint programme for training researchers and other key staff (WP8), and (ii) outreach activities, directed at the socio-economic users of knowledge on the impacts of climate and anthropogenic forcing on pelagic ecosystem (WP9), and the European public (WP10). These activities will be conducted at the network level.
WP8 Training for researchers and other key staff
General objective: Expand excellence in the EUR-OCEANS objective through training of a range of personnel.
WP9 Transfer to socio-economic users
General objective: Transfering knowledge and information from EUR-OCEANS science to socio-economic users
WP10 Public outreach
General objectives:
- To make the general public aware of the climate change and the impacts on marine ecosystems.
- To strengthen the link between scientists and the rest of the society.
- To spread the major researches of EUR-OCEANS to the European public through a network of 13 aquaria and scientific centers located in 12 European countries, as well as the European Union of Aquarium Curators.
