	Report from the Scientific Council on EUR-OCEANS advances

The EUR-OCEANS Scientific Council, composed of six external, renowned experts in the scientific fields of the Network, has been invited to review the scientific advances of EUR-OCEANS during the meeting of the Network Steering Committee (NSC) held in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, on 20-22 November 2007. The scientific review comprised: - a general introduction by Paul Tréguer and Louis Legendre, the Scientific Directors of the Network of Excellence; - presentations of significant advances in the EUR-OCEANS science domains by the Work Packages and Systems leaders; and presentations by PhD students or post-doc fellows on specific topics.

The Scientific Council was expected to: (1) assess the advances made by EUR-OCEANS in the different scientific domains from 2005 to 2007 and (2) make recommendations in regard to the scientific priorities of the Network during the 4^th and final year (2008). Attached is their final report.
