Equation Description :
Differential equation for nanophytoplankton concentration with time. In all the formulations, physical terms of diffusion and advection are eliminated for simplicity. Concentration units = micro mol N l-1, rate units = micro mol N l-1 day-1
Definitions:
Exc = excretion rate
Gra = grazing rate (GraPS2ZSn = grazing of small phytoplankton by small zooplankton)
Gpp = gross primary production rate
Mor = mortality rate
PSn = concentration of nanophytoplankton (micro mol N l-1)
Res = respiration rate
ZLn = large, onotgenetically migrating copepods (micro mol N l-1). Annually ZL in the model migrate out of the domain and only 10% return the following year. There is no diurnal migration simulated (see Kishi et al. 2001; Tsuda et al. 1999)
ZPn = concentration of gelatinous zooplankton
