"gelatinous zooplankton budget module" from NEMURO Equations
Equation Description :
Differential equations for gelatinous zooplankton concentrations in terms of N and Si respectively. Si:N ratio
(RSiNPL) in NEMURO has a value of 2, and all process equations for Si are identical to N but scaled by a factor of 2.In all the formulations, physical terms of diffusion and advection are eliminated for simplicity.
Ege = egestion rate (micro mol N l-1 day-1)
Exc = excretion rate (micro mol N l-1 day-1)
Gra = grazing (micro mol N l-1 day-1)
Mor = mortality rate (micro mol N l-1 day-1)
PLn = large phytoplankton concentration, diatoms (micro mol N l-1)
RSiNPL = 2 (Si:N ratio of large phytoplankton)
ZSn = non migratory microzooplankton (micro mol N l-1)
ZLn = large, onotgenetically migrating copepods concentration (micro mol N l-1). Annually ZL in the model migrate out of the domain and only 10% return the following year. There is no diurnal migration simulated (see Kishi et al. 2001; Tsuda et al. 1999)
ZPn = gelatinous predatory zooplankton (micro mol N l-1)
